FRESH CUT FLOWER CARE

Colored calla lilies have one of the longest vase lives available among specialty cut flowers under favorable conditions, they can last up to 2 weeks and quite possibly beyond.
The traditional white callas, although not quite as durable, can last well over a week.    Flower care, though, can have a large impact on the vase life of a flower:
Upon arrival of your fresh cut flowers promptly remove flowers from box and check for damaged flowers.    Remove protective layers (e.g. bubble wrap from top of calla bunches, polyethylene bag encasing hydrangeas).    Our flowers are shipped dry with ice gel packs to keep cool as well as prevent bacterial growth during shipping.    It is required after dry transport to rehydrate flowers.    Make a clean, 45 degree angle cut about an inch from the bottom of the stem and place in clean, fresh water at room temperature.

Recut ends and replace water after a few days to increase longetivity.    To maximize shelf life in commercial use, display and store in cooler held at 33-35 degrees F.    Unless a commercial cooler is available, Flowersbulbs.com recommends a Thursday or Friday delivery date for weekend weddings to ensure the freshest quality for the occasion.
Store and prepare in cool location out of direct sunlight. Never place flowers in same room or cooler with fruits or vegetables as they produce ethylene gas which could damage your flowers.
